Joburg Family Fest takes over The Cycle Shed @ Kloofzicht in Muldersdrift on Saturday, 14 November 2026, with gates opening at 06:00 for a full day of outdoor activities that runs until 18:00.
Set in the Cradle of Humankind area, the festival mixes sport and leisure. Cyclists can pick from family-friendly routes or take on a mountain bike challenge race through the countryside, and there are running events for every level, from personal-best chasers to casual joggers. Walkers get their own scenic family routes too.
Off the trails, there is live music through the day, a kids' entertainment zone, a market and vendor village with local food stalls and artisan goods, and a picnic area where you can set up blankets and camping chairs. Coffee, food and treats are sold by vendors on site.
All ages are welcome, so it suits young families, fitness fans and groups of friends after a day in the fresh air. Pets must stay at home because there is wildlife on the farm, and a list of prohibited items, including weapons, applies at the gate. Tickets are sold online, and the event is organised by SA Global Events Company.
