Community guidelines

Last updated: 8 October 2026

The community forums are where members share brand experiences with each other, in the channels they picked when they joined. These guidelines keep them friendly, legal and safe.

In short

Be respectful. Keep it legal and keep it 18+. Don't share anyone's personal details. We may remove posts that break these guidelines.

1. Who these guidelines are for

1.1 Members. They apply to everyone who joins the community forums through the For consumers sign-up, and to everything you post, share or send there.

1.2 Other terms. Our website terms and privacy notice also apply, and so do the rules of any campaign you take part in. If they conflict, the more specific document applies.

2. Be respectful

2.1 Treat other members, venue staff and brand teams with respect. Disagree with ideas, not people.

2.2 No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or content that discriminates against anyone, including on the grounds of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or nationality.

2.3 No sexually explicit, violent or graphic content.

3. Keep it legal and 18+

3.1 Age. Taking part in Hello Brand campaigns is for people aged 18 and over. The community forums are too. Don't post content that shows or is aimed at anyone under 18.

3.2 Drink responsibly. Don't encourage excessive or irresponsible drinking, drinking and driving, or drinking during pregnancy.

3.3 Gamble responsibly. Don't encourage gambling beyond your means. If gambling is causing you harm, help is available from the responsible-gambling services shown on the campaign concerned.

3.4 The law. Don't post anything illegal, or anything that promotes illegal activity, illegal goods or dangerous behaviour.

4. Protect privacy

4.1 Don't share personal information about yourself or anyone else in a forum: phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers, account details or passwords.

4.2 Only share photos or videos of other people if they have agreed to it.

4.3 How we handle your own personal information is set out in our privacy notice. You can ask to see, correct or delete it through our POPIA requests page.

5. Keep it honest

5.1 No spam, chain messages, advertising or selling, unless a channel is set up for it.

5.2 Don't pretend to be someone else, including a brand, a venue or a member of our team.

5.3 Only post content you have the right to share. Don't copy other people's photos, music, logos or writing without permission.

5.4 Play fair in campaigns, games and prize draws: one account per person, no automated entries and no cheating. Breaking a campaign's rules can mean losing an entry or a prize.

6. Moderation and reporting

6.1 Reporting. If you see something that breaks these guidelines, email [email protected] with the subject “Community report” and a link to the post or a short description.

6.2 What we may do. We may edit or remove posts, and suspend or close a membership, when content breaks these guidelines, our terms or the law. Where it is appropriate, we tell you why.

6.3 Leaving. You can leave the community forums at any time. Your other choices, such as marketing messages, stay as you set them.

7. Changes to these guidelines

We may update these guidelines from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and the version on this page applies.
